Day 1: NAIROBI
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi where you will be meet by a High Peaks Expeditions Representative with the traditional African welcome of flower garlands and transferred to The 5 star Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi . At the hotel, a special welcome has been arranged for the whole group in the lush gardens with African dances, chilled towels, and a cool non-alcoholic welcome drink with the Kigwa waterfall in the background. Set in the outskirts of Nairobi, 15 minutes from the City Center and 40 minutes from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, this 5 star hotel is situated on a 64 acre property with numerous gardens alive with all types of tropical flowers.
This hotel is built with a distinct African Architecture and Art. All the rooms have direct dial telephone with internet connection, safes, refrigerated mini bar, Color Television with 08 channels, same day laundry service, 07 days a week. All the rooms have verandas with a wonderful view of the lush gardens. The Hotel has 07 restaurants serving African, Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Indian and Continental. The hotels has a Discotheque, Piano Bar, Karaoke Bar, Casino, and a health club with Jacuzzi, Saunas, Steam Baths, Gymnasium, Aerobics Studio, Massage.
For recreation the hotel has one of the largest tropical swimming pools in Africa, 3 tennis courts – 2 floodlit, 2 squash courts, one other swimming pool. The hotel has 14 shops in the shopping village with bookshops, African Carvings, Jewelers, Curio Shop etc. The Hotel also has 24 hour room service. We have arranged a buffet lunch for you in a special exclusive area in the gardens.
This afternoon we will take you for a tour of the Nairobi city in which we will take you via Kenya’s Parliament, The Office Of The President, the Central bank of Kenya, City Market, The Kenyatta International Conference Center, The High Court, The University of Nairobi and the viewpoint on Nairobi Hill. You will also visit The Famous Nairobi Museum and The Snake Park.
14:00 Thereafter you will visit The Giraffe Center, Is a sanctuary for the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and you will get to feed and stroke this tall graceful animal. This is guaranteed to be an unforgettable up close encounter with the wild.
After your tour of The Giraffe Center you will be transferred to The Carnivore Restaurant. At the Carnivore Restaurant, you will have a very interesting interactive drumming session in which the group will be taught to play the African drum as a team. This is a very interesting incentive activity and very good team-building activity. After the drumming session the group will sit in the lovely gardens for dinner. The Carnivore is one of the most popular restaurants in the Nairobi city and is a ‘must go’ for any visitor to Kenya. Here, the meat is grilled over an open fire more like the Brazilian way. Besides the regular meat like beef, chicken and pork, the restaurant also serves game meat like zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, ostrich and crocodile. After dessert, Kenya tea and coffee, you will be transferred back to the Safari Park Hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: NAKURU
07:00 Full buffet breakfast at The Cafe Kigwa coffee shop at The Safari Park Hotel.
08:00 After breakfast you will start on the morning drive to The Lake Nakuru National Park. This drive will take you past the eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley where your driver/guides will stop at a strategic viewpoint for photography. Descend to the floor of the Rift Valley and continue driving to the Lake Nakuru National Park.
11:30 Arrive at The Lake Nakuru National Park and you will be welcomed at a special spot – the Baboon Cliff. Here you will get your room keys and then drive on to the Lodge.
Arrive at Lake Nakuru Lodge in time for lunch. Your luggage will be taken to your rooms by the Lodge porters. Lunch is arranged for you at an exclusive area on the terrace of the main restaurant overlooking the Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy a full buffet lunch while watching the antics of the baboons in the waterhole in front of you.
The Lake Nakuru Lodge was the first lodge in this park and has a beautiful vantage point from where you can see the park and the Lake Nakuru. The lodge has a lovely swimming pool and the gardens are green and lush and awash with flowers. After lunch you have some time to rest of take a dip in the beautiful swimming pool.
16:30 Afternoon game viewing drive in the Lake Nakuru National Park. The Lake Nakuru National Park is world renowned for its large population of the pink flamingos, which sometimes number over a million. The park is also home to the white rhino, the rare black rhino among other wild animals. You are almost certain to see the most elusive of the cats family, the leopard.
18:30 Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Dinner is arranged for you in the gardens next to the swimming pool. Overnight at the Lodge.
Day 3: MASAI MARA
06:30 Early full buffet breakfast at the Lake Nakuru Lodge.
07:30 Morning drive to The world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve with 02 stops en route.
13:00 Arrive at Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge to a welcome of colorfully dressed Maasai Moran dancers, a cold towel and a welcome drink. We will arrange a group check-in and the Maasai dancers will lead you to the swimming pool where your room keys will be distributed amidst song and dance. Your luggage meanwhile will be taken straight to your room by hotel porters. The Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge is a first class lodge built in African architecture and with a lovely swimming pool and other amenities.
13:30 Lunch will be in the hotels dining room terrace overlooking the rolling hills that characterise the Maasai Mara. After lunch you will have an hour to rest from the drive.
1600 Your driver/guide will take you for your first game viewing drive in this magnificent reserve. The greatest attraction in the Mara is watching the animals in their natural element; a lion’s roar, a cheetah making a kill, the large herds of the migratory wildebeest, an elephant trumpeting in anger and lots of other animal activities are all very fascinating events.
18:30 Return to the lodge after your game drive for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: MASAI MARA
06:00 You will be woken up this morning to a lovely African sunrise and at the lobby coffee, tea and cookies will be ready for you.
06:15 The whole group meets at the lounge for coffee, tea and cookies ready for an early morning game viewing drive in the Maasai Mara. The game drive will start at 0630 hrs. The early mornings and evenings are the best times to watch the big cats hunt – the lion, the cheetah and the leopard. At these times the most glorious sunrises and sunsets are observed.
08:30 Return to the lodge for a full buffet breakfast.
10:30 After breakfast we have arranged a visit to an authentic Maasai Village. In the village you will be welcomed by Maasai women dancing. A guide will take you through the village explaining in details the way the Maasai’s live, their beliefs and traditions. You will get a demonstration of how the Maasai make fire using sticks. You will go into their houses and will be shown the full family set-up. At the end of the guided tour you will come to a market where you will have a chance to buy some of the items and curios made in their village. While in the village you are allowed to take as many pictures as you want. Return to the Lodge after this thrilling visit.
12:00Once back at the lodge, we can arrange for you a 01 team building exercise if you wish. The whole group will be divided into smaller groups and some of the activities we can arrange are as follows.
1] Dressing one member of the group like a Maasai. We will supply all the items of dress including the red ochre and spears.
2] Fire making competition – The groups will compete with each other on how to make a fire using the Maasai skills.
3] Bead making competition – The Maasai’s main ornament is the bead necklaces. We will supply the materials. We will have a Maasai judge and he will decide which the winning group is. This winning group will get an award that will be Maasai in origin, for example a spear.
14:00 Late lunch will be served in the restaurant after which the clients will have time to rest before the evening game drive.
16:00 We will take you for another exciting evening game viewing drive in the Maasai Mara.
18:30 After the game drive you will be driven back to the lodge to freshen up for dinner.
19:30 Your driver/guides will pick you up and drive you into the African Bush for a Gala Bush dinner. After a 15 minutes drive you will come to the bush dinner site. Here, Maasai dancers will welcome you with their fascinating dances and you will get a welcome cocktail near a bon-fire. The path will be lit by lanterns and flaming spears. The bush dinner site will be decorated in traditional Maasai decor and the tables will have the full set of cutlery and glasses as in any first class restaurant.
A full hot buffet dinner will be spread for the group with chicken, lamb, pork, beef, vegetables and salad in the variety. A full dessert spread will also be available as well as Kenya tea and coffee after the dinner. A bar with full waiter service will also be set. We will provide a microphone and music system and the guests will have a dinner under the African stars with the drumbeats of Africa playing.
The dinner will also serve as the awards night if any awards are to be given and guests can then dance the night away. The winners for the team building competition will be given their awards this evening. A cake bearing the the company logo will be presented by the Maasai warriors to the boss to cut in commemoration of the safari. After the ceremony the guests will be taken back to the lodge for overnight.
Day 5: MARA/NBI
06:00 Wake up to another beautiful morning in Africa, with birds chirping and singing. Tea, coffee and cookies shall be served at the lounge.
06:30 Depart for your early morning game drive.
08:30 After your game drive your driver/guides will take you for a bush breakfast in the Maasai Mara. Set out under the morning African sky, the tables will be laid out in the open with a full buffet breakfast set on one side with cereals, juices, bacon, sausages, potatoes, tea and coffee in the spread. This bush site is going to be different from the bush dinner site the night before and the clients will have breakfast with the awesome view of the Maasai Mara plains ahead of them.
10:00 After breakfast, you will be driven back back to Nairobi with 02 stops en route for souvenir shopping.
14:30 Arrive in Nairobi and transferred straight for lunch.
